Brie has been the opening receptionist starting at 5 AM every weekday morning at the El Dorado Hills Sports Club ever since I’ve been a member which I think is about three years. Brie works two jobs and is trying to go to school. Recently her car died and she was having trouble getting to and from all her activities. Couple of the members learned about this predicament and wanted to see what could be done to help her out. It turns out Debbie in our group of 5 AMers owns Cameron Park Automotive where she also sells client’s used cars from her a lot. One such car was lovingly named Bertha, a purple sedan on which the owners had not been able to secure an acceptable offer. The price was right and the members of the “5 AM club” organized and started raising funds to purchase this car for Brie. Yesterday morning at 7 AM there was a gathering in the parking lot around Bertha complete with a big purple bow and the 5 AMers presented Brie with the keys to Bertha complete with a smog and current registration! Brie was absolutely stunned, shocked and thrilled; just a basket of emotions that warmed all of our hearts! I took my two grandchildren, Jonah and Skyler who had spent the night so I could take them to school yesterday over to meet Bree and to witness the true Reason for the Season! They were moved by the experience and I was honored to be able to participate in such an appreciated act of giving! Merry Christmas!

Continuing the Tradition!
Two of our grand children, Maggy and Jonah, have come of age! (The age where they can take their hunter safety course and get a junior hunting license.)
Because we wanted them to learn in the “right” way, we sent them to the California Waterfowl’s Hunter Safety Camp which is held at the Grizzly Ranch just south of Suisun City the middle of July. Now armed with their certificates Sunday, Alan and I took them both to get those precious green slips of plastic – their hunting licenses. First Maggy at the Walmart in Elk Grove and then Jonah the Walmart in Orangevale. Their first hunt will be the Dove Opener up at the Cowan Ranch in the Plymouth area. Rob Cowan, Maggy’s uncle calls it a California-National Holiday! Opening of Dove!
The Real Estate Huntress is going hunting!
It’s just before 1:00 am and I’m up!!! Waking up, not still up! Breakfast burritos are in the oven – wild pulled pork burritos. We’re meeting Casey Stafford at 4:00 am to go wild boar hunting! And yes, I’m a little crazy because I think this is sort of cool! I’ll post photos from the field later this morning!

Great New Testimonial From Pat & Bob Grandinetti – 32 year owners of Hall’s Windows!
I just received this amazing testimonial from Bob and Pat Grandinetti. I am humbled and honored and share it – it really does pay to work hard and always put the client’s needs first! Thank you Bob and Patti!
Viki has helped us buy and sell several homes over the last 15 years. When I recap my experience with her I realize that I may be a savvy business person, but when it comes to buying and selling homes, a lot of emotions get involved and it can create unrealistic expectations as well as a great deal of stress. But Viki kept all that in check for my family. She knows the market. She creates a relationship with you that makes everything just flow. She sets appropriate expectations. One of the houses she sold for us was in the $1.3 million range and there were some hard negotiations to handle. But Viki made the deal work. She just has an uncanny ability to get deals done. She overcomes all the obstacles. Another time we wanted to move and she must have shown us 50 houses. That in itself is extraordinary. But then we decided not to move and there was no heartburn. She gets it. She knows that every deal is not a sale and it never affected her relationship with us. Viki just seems to walk in your shoes and she puts her own needs on the back burner. I just think that’s extraordinary. That’s the feel you get from Viki Benbow. She’s a friend who you happen to do business with. I would highly recommend her not just for all the obvious reasons like being ethical and professional. But because she is truly in a league of her own as a trusted friend and expert realtor who puts your needs first, makes no excuses and gets the big deals done.

OMG!
OMG! As most my friends, family and clients know, when Alan and I are not working we love to hunt and fish! I was fortunate to come away from the late season goose hunt with 4 geese, two specs and 2 snow geese. Snow geese are considered at the bottom of the flavor chain, but I was determined to turn them into something special. Guy on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives visited the Noble Pig just outside of Austin Texas where they make a duck pastrami. It looked so good, I pulled one of the narley Snows out of the freezer and went to work. Alan boned it out and we put together the rub. He armed the smoker with apple wood chips from the dead apple tree we cut down this winter and smoked that puppy for about 5 hours. Like I said OMG! We are taking a Sherri Radovich Rubly (Vitek Mortgage) and her husband Bill Rubly out on the Delta to hunt for Sturgeon and Stripers tomorrow – a trip they bought to benefit the SAR Scholarship Fund. Among other yummy menu items, they will be treated to that awsome smoked goose with fig jam and Gorgonzola bites!
