Brie has been the opening receptionist starting at 5 AM every weekday morning at the El Dorado Hills Sports Club ever since I’ve been a member which I think is about three years. Brie works two jobs and is trying to go to school. Recently her car died and she was having trouble getting to and from all her activities. Couple of the members learned about this predicament and wanted to see what could be done to help her out. It turns out Debbie in our group of 5 AMers owns Cameron Park Automotive where she also sells client’s used cars from her a lot. One such car was lovingly named Bertha, a purple sedan on which the owners had not been able to secure an acceptable offer. The price was right and the members of the “5 AM club” organized and started raising funds to purchase this car for Brie. Yesterday morning at 7 AM there was a gathering in the parking lot around Bertha complete with a big purple bow and the 5 AMers presented Brie with the keys to Bertha complete with a smog and current registration! Brie was absolutely stunned, shocked and thrilled; just a basket of emotions that warmed all of our hearts! I took my two grandchildren, Jonah and Skyler who had spent the night so I could take them to school yesterday over to meet Bree and to witness the true Reason for the Season! They were moved by the experience and I was honored to be able to participate in such an appreciated act of giving! Merry Christmas!
